Soil Conservation

Blue Tongues Special Projects division is often called upon to restore eroded damaged drainage lines and creeks to contain and reverse damage caused by erosion and sedimentation.

We have delivered a number of successful projects where we have used our “in-house” design capability to successfully restore degraded water-courses.

With our background in bushland management it is imperative that we use solutions that minimise impacts on the ecology of the sites we work on. Our softer approaches to civil engineering works relating to this type of damage has meant that we have left only the smallest possible footprint as evidence of our work. We believe our approach results in a better outcome for the natural systems we work with than if it were designed purely from a civil engineering approach.

Using products such as geo-textile, jute mesh, jute matting and an array of logs, coir logs, sandstone boulders and the like our product assimilates into its natural environment as a functional addition to the important habitat qualities that environmental flow lines contribute to bush land ecology.
